本标准规定了煤矿用带式输送机设计、制造、安装、使用和维护的安全要求。
本标准适用于煤矿井下用带式输送机，也适用于有爆炸性危险的露天煤矿、选煤等工作场所用带式输送机，不适用于钢丝绳牵引带式输送机。
