【摘要】:Diametralcompressionstrengthisanimportantmeasureofthemechanicalpropertiesofcastingmaterials.Thistestmethodsimulatestheloadingpatternseeninlowerextremitycastingapplicationsduringambulation.Thistestmethodcannotbeusedtodeterminecastlifeormeasurebendingorothermodesofcastfailure.Thistestmethodmeasuresbutdoesnotprescribevalues.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthefunctionaldiametralcompressionstrengthofcylindricaltestspecimensformedfromsyntheticfiberglasspolyurethanecastingmaterials.Thetestspecimensemployedinthistestmethodaresimilaringeometryandconstructiontocastsusedinorthopaedicapplications.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtodeterminethestrengthofthebasematerialsusedforfabricationofthetestspecimen.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsaregivenin6.7.
