【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesaprocedureforperforminglaboratoryteststoevaluatedeflagrationparametersofdusts.ThedatadevelopedbythistestmethodmaybeusedforthepurposeofsizingdeflagrationventsinconjunctionwiththenomographspublishedinNFPA68,ISO6184/1,orVDI3673.Thevaluesobtainedbythistestingtechniquearespecifictothesampletestedandthemethodusedandarenottobeconsideredintrinsicmaterialconstants.Forhard-to-ignitedustswithlowKSt-values,averystrongignitormayoverdrivea20-Lchamber,asdiscussedinE1515andRef2.Ifadusthasmeasurable(nonzero)Pmax-andKSt-valueswitha5000or10000-Jignitorbutnotwitha2500-Jignitorina20-Lchamber,thismaybeanoverdrivensystem.Inthiscase,itisrecommendedthatthedustbetestedwitha10000-Jignitorinalargerchambersuchasa1-m3chambertodetermineifitisactuallyexplosible.1.1Purpose.Thepurposeofthistestmethodistoprovidestandardtestmethodsforcharacterizingthex201C;explosibilityx201D;ofdustcloudsintwoways,firstbydeterminingifadustisx201C;explosible,x201D;meaningacloudofdustdispersedinairiscapableofpropagatingadeflagration;or,ifexplosible,determiningthedegreeofx201C;explosibility,x201D;meaningthepotentialexplosionhazardofadustcloudascharacterizedbythedustexplosibilityparameters,maximumexplosionpressure,Pmax;maximumrateofpressurerise,(dP/dt)max;andexplosibilityindex,KSt.1.2Limitations.Resultsobtainedbytheapplicationofthemethodsofthisstandardpertainonlytocertaincombustioncharacteristicsofdisperseddustclouds.Noinferenceshouldbedrawnfromsuchresultsrelatingtothecombustioncharacteristicsofdustsinotherformsorconditions(e.g.,ignitiontemperatureorsparkignitionenergyofdustclouds,ignitionpropertiesofdustlayersonhotsurfaces,ignitionofbulkdustinheatedenvironments,etc.)1.3Use.Itisintendedthatresultsobtainedbyapplicationofthistestbeusedaselementsofanexplosionriskassessmentthattakesintoaccountotherpertinentriskfactors;andinthespecificationofexplosionpreventionsystems(see,forexampleNFPA68,NFPA69,andNFPA654)whenusedinconjunctionwithapprovedorrecognizeddesignmethodsbythoseskilledintheart.Note18212;Historically,theevaluationofthedeflagrationparametersofmaximumpressureandmaximumrateofpressurerisehasbeendoneusinga1.2-LHartmannApparatus.TestMethodE789,whichdescribesthismethod,hasbeenwithdrawn.Theuseofdataobtainedfromthetestmethodinthedesignofexplosionprotectionsystemsisnotrecommended.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
