【摘要】:Severaltestmethodsformeasuringmasslossbyabrasionandimpactofpreformedblock-typeandpreformedpipe-covering-typethermalinsulationhavebeenusedpreviously.Itisbelievedthatnosingletestmethodcompletelycoversallfactorsinvolvingsuchforcesfordifferentkindsofmaterials,butthistestmethodisintendedtoprovideaprocedurethatgivesreproducibleresults.Itisusedforcomparingthemasslossbytumblingbeforeandafteraspecifictreatmentoftheinsulation,asagreeduponbythepurchaserandthemanufacturer.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthemasslossofpreformedblock-typeandpreformedpipe-covering-typethermalinsulationasaresultofacombinationofabrasionandimpactproducedbyalaboratorytumblingmechanism.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.-
