【摘要】:DefinitionsTermsandrelateddefinitionsgiveninSection4areintendedforuseuniformlyandconsistentlyinallfireteststandardsandinallfire-test-responsestandards,fire-hazard-assessmentstandards,andfire-risk-assessmentstandardsinwhichtheyappear.DefinitionsofTermsSpecifictoThisStandard:AsindicatedinSection4,termsandtheirdefinitionsareintendedtoprovideapreciseunderstandingandinterpretationoffire-test-responsestandards,fire-hazard-assessmentstandards,andfire-risk-assessmentstandardsinwhichtheyappear.Aspecificdefinitionofagiventermisapplicabletothestandardorstandardsinwhichthetermisdescribedandused.Differentdefinitionsofthesameterm,appearingrespectivelyintwoormorestandards,areacceptableprovidedeachoneisconsistentwithandnotinconflictwiththestandarddefinitionforthesameterm,thatis,concept.Eachstandardinwhichatermisusedinamannerspeciallydefined(see1.1andSection5)shalllistthetermanditsdescriptionunderthesubheading,DefinitionsofTerms.DefinitionsforsometermsassociatedwithfireissuesandnotincludedinTerminologyE176arefoundinISO13943.Whendiscrepanciesexist,thedefinitioninTerminologyE176shallprevail.1.1Thisterminologycoversterms,relateddefinitions,anddescriptionsoftermsusedorlikelytobeusedinfire-test-responsestandards,fire-hazard-assessmentstandards,andfire-risk-assessmentstandards.Definitionsoftermsarespecial-purposedefinitionsthatareconsistentwiththestandarddefinitionsbutarewrittentoensurethataspecificfire-test-responsestandard,fire-hazard-assessmentstandard,orfire-risk-assessmentstandardisproperlyunderstoodandpreciselyinterpreted.Note18212;Foradditionalinformation,refertoASTMPolicyonFireStandards.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thisfirestandardcannotbeusedtoprovidequantitativemeasures.
